Pyogenic Granuloma-Like Kaposi's Sarcoma.

The article reports 4 cases of pyogenic granuloma-like Kaposi sarcoma which shared similar histologic findings and displayed nuclear immunoreactivity with the monoclonal antibody to HHV-8 latent nuclear antigen-1. The 4 cases showed HHV-8 LNA-1 positivity that was limited to the areas of spindle cell profileration. It suggests that HHV-8 LNA-1 immunohisto-chemistry should be considered if there is clinical suspicion of Kaposi sarcoma in lesons that histologically mimic pyogenic granuloma.
