Theory vs. Practice: Women's Rights and Gender Equity in Afghanistan.

The article examines the rights granted to Afghan women and girls in the 2004 Constitution. Topics discussed include ways in which laws have been introduced to minimize the rights of women and girls; ways in which lacks enforcement, and subsequent Afghan laws failed its progressive Constitution; and the provisions for elimination of violence against women (EVAW) in the constitution.
