Abstract: The article presents a report from the U.S. Congressional Research Service on role of the U.S. Federal Protective Service (FPS) to protect federal property, personnel and federal buildings. It informs that the FPS operations reduces vulnerability to criminal and terrorist threats It highlights the budget authority request made by the DHS for fiscal year 2016. It also informs about the U.S. Senate and House bills which includes requested authorization to use fees to support FPS operations.
