An interview with Dawn Zidonis, executive director of the San Francisco Design Week, a festival focused on the design sector in California, is presented. Zidonis discusses the reasons why San Francisco Design Week receives less exposure than other North American design events, the lessons that Zidonis and her co-organizers have learned that helped them improve the festival and the steps they take to help emerging designers and artisans deal with the costs of participating in the event.
