First preparation of low band gap fulvene-modified polynorbornene via ring-opening metathesis polymerization.

New polymers containing intact pendant-fulvene moieties have been successfully prepared from 1,3-phenyl-6-norbornenylfulvene via ring-opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP).
