An (Im)possible Transaction?

The article discusses the relation between queer studies and African studies. Topics include the creation of the group Gays and Lesbians in African Studies (GLAS) in the organization African Studies Association (ASA), homophobic legislation and violence against LGBTI people in Africa, and the relation of intersectionality to queer African studies.
