Research Trend about Well-Being Concepts: Focusing on Clothing, Textile and Beauty Studies in Korea.

This study investigated the Korean study trends of the 'well-being' in the fashion research area and suggests a practical help in setting the future direction. The researcher collected the journal articles published from 2000 to 2014 and a total of 229 articles of wellbeing were analyzed. The selected wellbeing articles were analyzed by research area and wellbeing theme grouped into categories as meta keywords. The results were as follows: first, Korean articles about wellbeing in clothing, textile and beauty studies have been studied in various research field; fashion design, consumer behavior, beauty and cosmetology, material and textile, costume culture, fashion marketing & merchandising, appearance management, production, industry & trade, wellbeing concept & measurement tool, pattern making, and education. Second, wellbeing subordinate concept included wellbeing trend, wellbeing product/wear, wellbeing pursuit orientation, wellbeing lifestyle, wellbeing consciousness/attitude, wellbeing design, wellbeing consumption, wellbeing culture, wellbeing technique, wellbeing marketing, wellbeing concept, wellbeing health consciousness, and wellbeing image. Third, various research variables were identified as a result of the meta analysis of research variables used in well-being research of clothing and textile, and beauty studies. Various approaches including consumer behavior, design, costume culture, eco-friendly, materials/textile, clothes type, beauty & cosmetic, marketing, appearance/health management, functionality, digital, consumption, brand, subject of study, production and mass media have been developed in the field of academia.
