Abstract
- An inside space of the single-wall carbon nanotube (SWNT) can be used as a template for one-dimensional molecular crystals simply by filling the space with molecules. Here we show some results of the filling with fullerenes, organic molecules, and DNA. High-density filling was confirmed by X-ray diffraction analysis for the each sample. It was found that the relative intensity change in radial breathing modes in the Raman spectra from the SWNT, not from the molecules inside, can be used as a filling monitor similarly to the (10) peak intensity change in the X-ray diffraction. © 2003 American Institute of Physics [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
