Abstract

The article discusses the role of contagion in suicidal behavior among gifted students. Topics discussed include variation in the definition of suicide according to culture, religion and age, the prevalence of suicide among students with gifts and talents (SWGT) in the U.S. as of 2010 and the impact of contagion on SWGT's suicidal tendencies particularly those in highly competitive environments.
