Abstract
- Analyzes the increase in earnings inequality and the relationship to macroeconomic conditions in Canada during the 1980s. Investigation of the importance of national policies and institutions in influencing trends in inequality; Results which contrast with other findings that the unemployment-inequality relationship weakened in the late 1980s in other liberal economies such as the United States and the United Kingdom; Thoughts about the impact of unionization and minimum wages.
