Abstract

The article reports on the transit and passenger rail security measures implemented in the U.S. to protect passengers from terrorist attacks. The measures include creating emergency response training and drilling programs for transit personnel, conducting random inspections of bags, platforms and trains and increasing the number of transit security personnel. The passenger rail and transit security provisions of the Implementing Recommendations of the 9/11 Commission Act of 2007 are discussed.
