Abstract

The article reports on the six broadly based facilities created by the Federal Reserve of the U.S. under the Section 13 paragraph 3 of the Federal Reserve Act in 2008. It outlines the six facilities which include the Term Securities Lending Facility (TSLF), the Commercial Paper Funding Facility (CPFF) and the Money Market investor Funding Facility (MMIFF). It notes that the facilities were created to extend credit to all eligible borrowers within a particular class of nonbank financial firms.
