Abstract

The article explains what happens when system design requirements change and applies this framework to real-word design situations. It distinguishes the three categories of derivative design, which are projects defined by a list of requirement changes to an existing design, platform-based design, and reference-based design. It outlines the steps for each design process and the process for addressing changes in behavioral requirements of a system design.
