Abstract
- Dental fractures are common trauma complications in the oral cavity. Aproper diagnosis and management of dental injuries is a considerable factor in the comprehensive practice of dentistry. The present article describes a case study of trauma in central maxillary incisor with tooth fragment lodged in the lower lip. Radiographs confirmed the presence of this tooth piece, which was removed under local anesthesia. The lower lip was excised and the supposed dental fragment was identified and gently removed. From this case report it is evident that a thorough clinical examination with soft-tissue radiographs is mandatory for early diagnosis and surgical management. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
