Abstract
- The authors present a rebuttal to an article that rejects the use of oscillometry for screening airway disease. The article shows that forced oscillation technique (FOT) does not provide the diagnostic benefits made possible by spirometry such as the diagnosis of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and as an independent predictor of morbidity and disease progression. The authors cite that resistance to FOT can be referenced to the functional residual capacity as specific airway conductance. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
