Abstract

Continuously improving the innovation performance may decide on the weal and woe of a company and an organization in general. Recognizing current innovation ecosystem needs and quickly implementing effective measures is a prerequisite for sustainable success. Accordingly, an easy-to-use system to assess the status and needs of the innovation ecosystem has been developed at Siemens Convergence Creators. This includes analyzing feedback obtained from various stakeholder groups on the effectiveness of specific idea generation settings. To allow a quick and appropriate response, a set of methods to meet innovation creation challenges has been compiled, reflecting examples that have proven effective in innovative companies. These methods have been classified into a newly developed category system, which is based on four key dimensions characterizing innovation settings. Insights gained from opinion surveys and concrete experiences at Siemens Convergence Creators reveal differing, stakeholder-specific assessments of innovation creation settings, yet agreeing on the importance of customer-centricity.
