Abstract

The article presents a study which examined whether increasing calcium intake from dietary sources enhances bone mineral density and whether its effects are similar to that of calcium supplements. In the study, databases from Ovid Medline, Embase and Pubmed were examined. Based on the results, higher calcium intake results in small non-progressive increases in bone density.
