Abstract

The article focuses on the Argentine Sociological Association. The association was founded on July 25, 1960 as a result of the development of teaching and research in this field. The association intends to promote high scientific standards in sociology, especially among those who have bad academic training in the subject and are dedicated full time to it. The Argentine Sociological Association has been affiliated with the International Sociological Association since January 1961. The various meetings and the subjects discussed at the symposium organized by the organization in Buenos Aires from September 25-29, are: Latin American Conference on Schools and Department of Sociology, Latin American Symposium on Stratification and Social Mobility, Symposium on Social Psychology, and the Interdisciplinary Seminar on Argentine Economic and Social Development its history and future. Papers presented at the various meetings have been published in mimeographed form and are available from the Argentine Sociological Association.
