Abstract

The article presents a case study of a 57-year-old man presented with a perianal fistula after restorative proctocolectomy for refractory ulcerative colitis (UC). He underwent through ileal pouch-anal anastomosis (IPAA) and his histological findings of excised colorectum were compatible with UC and ruled out Crohn's disease (CD). He was treated with metronidazole and his computed axial tomography failed to reveal an intraabdominal abscess.
