Abstract
- Presents a study that analyzed the role of social capital in local and regional entrepreneurship. Comparison between social capital and other forms of capital; Outline model of how the spatially-defined producer surplus form a place surplus, and of the role played by social capital in the creation of producer surplus; Discussion of social capital in inter-firm relations and the entrepreneurship-inhibiting and -facilitating aspects of social capital; Formal economic modeling approaches to theoretical relationship between social capital and entrepreneurship.
