Abstract: The article focuses on the process of selection of academic books to be included in the book citation index. Topics discussed include need for peer review of books before publication; prohibition of books containing reprinted content; preference for lectures of doctoral theses, textbooks, and biographies; and the types of books including academic scientific authorship and compilation books.
