Abstract
- This article examines the distinction between language use and language structure that would detect any sign of sexism in the gender system in Poland. The Polish gender system is said to be grammatical and various authors differ in the importance they attach to the fact that in the case of animate and especially human, nouns, the Polish gender system is natural, so that roughly speaking masculine nouns refer to males and feminine nouns denote females.
