Abstract
- The article presents a study that identifies the relationship between acculturation and health in Hispanic American elders and explores the interrelationships of acculturation, health status, age, gender, education, years in the U.S. and income. Evidence shows that those who are more acculturated to mainstream American culture report their mental health to be better but not their physical health, indicating the need to provide more culturally competent care.
