Abstract

A 1-to-1 tutorial language program is illustrated in a series of dialogues between a teacher and a 4-year-old socially disadvantaged child. The teaching is analyzed both according to the deficiencies of the child's thinking and the techniques designed to foster the abstract thinking necessary to overcome these deficiencies.
