Abstract

The article presents a study on patient controlled analgesia (PCA) in emergency department patients afflicted with non-traumatic abdominal pain. Topics include the Pain Solutions in the Emergency Setting (PASTIES), PCA's comparison to routine care, and an increased use of morphine in patients with PCA. It also features a table of the primary outcome of total pain experienced and secondary outcomes.
