Abstract

The article discusses a study regarding the development of antibiotic teixobactin.. Topics discussed include the blocking of biosynthetic precursor Lipid II by teixobactin, the bacterial cell wall biosynthesis, and the activity-based isolation of Gram-negative proteobacterium Eleftheria terrae that leads to the discovery of teixobactin.
