Abstract

Data on various specific aspects of the synthesis of polymeric materials under microwave irradiation and on the use of such specific class of solvents as ionic liquids as the reaction medium, are analyzed in this review. Chemistry and chemical technology should be considered as a powerful means to achieve sustainable development goals, so the characteristics of microwave-induced processes and processes using ionic liquids have been discussed in relation to the 12 principles of green chemistry. These processes are shown to possess high resource efficiency and energy efficiency potential. Copyright © 2015 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
