Abstract
- A literary analysis of several books by David Foster Wallace is presented including "Signifying Rappers," co-written with Mark Costello, "Brief Interviews With Hideous Men," and "Infinite Jest." It examines Wallace's lack of female characters, focusing on criticism suggesting the author was misogynist and sexist. The analysis goes on to argue that Wallace explores the concept of alterity through gender and the body.
