Abstract

The article reports on the use of acoustic technologies to save water in the drought-stricken state of California. It mentions the technique used by professional service solutions provider ME Simpson, in which transducer microphones attached to water meters help in detecting leaks in pressurized water pipes. Also discussed is about the infrastructure management technologies provider Pure Technologies, which uses the sensor-based device Sahara for detecting leaks in the pipe.
