Abstract

Magnetic properties of the ZnNiFeO nanoparticle were investigated by measuring the dc magnetization and ac susceptibility. The ferrimagnetic phase forms below 225 K. Through analyzing the relationship between the transition temperature and frequency in the ac susceptibility, it is confirmed that the magnetic dipolar interaction between ferrimagnetic nanoparticles causes a cluster-glass behavior. In the low-temperature region (below 90 K), an antiferromagnetic phase is found to coexist with the ferrimagnetic phase. The antiferromagnetic interaction between the B-site Fe ions plays an important role in the formation of the antiferromagnetic phase. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
