Abstract: The article discusses a study on phylogenetic relationships and molecular dating of the main evolutionary events within the Caprini tribe. The study applied nuclear (n) and mitochondrial (mt) DNA sequences to examine phylogenies. It analyzed total DNA extracted from whole blood samples of Barbary sheep, argali, urial, bighorn, European and Asian domestic sheep, wild Corsico-Sardinian and Cyprus mouflon, and domestic goat.
