Abstract

The article discusses the damage caused by World War I to cultural property in Europe from the medieval period, including antiquities, buildings and architecture. An overview of the war damage to Europe's cathedrals and church buildings, including the Reims Cathedral in Paris, France from German shelling, is provided.
