Abstract
- A conference paper analyzing multiculturalism from a hospitality ethics standpoint is presented. It discusses the relationship between immigration policy and multiculturalism policy and multiculturalism according the British Pakistani sociologist Tariq Modood. Topics include economic immigration, the reemergence of republicanism in political philosophy since the 1980s, and the debate over the right to wear a kirpan, a ceremonial sword carried by baptized Sikhs, in public schools in Québec from 2002 to 2006.
