Abstract

The article focuses on literary influence of poet Alfred Tennyson on the poems of English poet Christina Georgina Rossetti. It is stated that Rossettian poems often turn out to be Tennysonian. Topics discussed include Rossetti's originality and her imitation of Tennyson, the indebtedness of her poems to the themes found within Tennyson's poetry, and women poetesses in the Victorian era. Poems of Rossetti's are discussed including "From House to Home," "Autumn" and "Mariana."
