Abstract

The article focuses on a report by Center for American Progress (CAP) which reveals that reforms in the U.S. Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 by Republican Party would lower education quality for minorities. Topics discussed include elimination of accountability for low-performing schools by the reform, abolishing graduation goals and lowering academic standards and the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB) including shortening academic curriculum and over-testing of students.
