Abstract

We have determined the isomeric ratios of isomeric pairs Ir and Pt produced in Pt( γ, p)Ir and Pt( γ, n)Pt photonuclear reactions in the giant dipole resonance (GDR) region by the activation method. The results were analyzed, discussed and compared with the similar data from literature to examine the role of excitation energy and difference in the isomeric and ground state spins. The isomeric ratios of Ir and Pt from the present work, namely from 19 to 23 MeV for Ir and from 18 to 24 MeV for Pt are the first time measurements. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
