The entire paper will revolve around the idea that in the context of regional competitiveness, what really matters are the competitive industries from a certain region, and these, in turn, depend on the firms' activity. Using the Analytic Hierarchy Process we will try to identify which are the most competitive industries from the North-West region of Romania taking into consideration a set of specific "firm indicators" in a particular industry such as: number of companies active in the industry, turnover of the companies from a certain industry, number of employees.
