Abstract
- The article discusses the identity of British physician James Grant and his participation in the British mission to Mexico between 1825 and 1826. The article presents several letters from Grant to family members that distinguish Grant from two contemporaries also named James Grant in Mexico and Texas. The article discusses Grant's service for the British government, his association with the British firm Real del Monte, and his Mexican citizenship as of 1830. The article describes Grant's expedition to Matamoros, Mexico, during the Texas Revolution.
