Abstract: The article focuses on the systemic insecticide fipronil and those which belong to the neonicotinoid family. The increasing global dependance on the prophylactic use of these potent neurotoxic systemic insecticides has raised concerns about their effects on biodiversity and ecosystem services provided by a wide range of affected species and environments.
