Abstract

The article presents a study on centrifugal pumps in relation of to low-flow extracorporeal CO2 removal. Topics include a look into hydrodynamic performance and gaseous microemboli (GME) activity of the pumps, the hydrodynamic stability of Rotassist 2.8 and Rotaflow 32 centrifugal pumps, and the technique called extracorporeal life support (ELS). It also mentions the net positive suction head (NPSH).
