Abstract

The article presents a critique of the "netting" of derivatives and the U.S. Financial Stability Oversight Council's (FSOC's) criteria for identifying and regulating non-bank systemically important financial institutions (SIFIs), focusing on various recommendations and methods for improving the liquidity of financial institutions in places such as the U.S. The Basel Committee on Banking Supervision is mentioned, along with Liquidity Coverage Ratios and the Global Financial Crisis of 2007-2013.
