- The article features 10 people who made significant contributions to science in 2014. They include Andrea Accomazzo who led the team that steered the interplanetary mission Rosetta to its rendezvous with the comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko in August 2014, Suzanne Topalian who pioneered cancer immunotherapy, and Sheik Humarr Khan who was part of the team that performed the first genetic sequencing studies of the Ebola virus in his country Sierra Leone.
