Abstract
- The ABBI (Advanced Breast Biopsy Instrumentation) system is a new method of breast surgery of nonpalpable tumors which permits intraoperative mammography. In a pilot study it was shown that a small carcinoma can be removed by a mammographically and stereotactically controlled biopsy (20 mm maximum diameter). An indicated breast-conserving therapy can be carried out when using this method.
