Abstract
- Themes of love and death in combination determine Heinrich Heines early lyrics. Heine's psychosexual development ist analyzed by emphasising the female influence. His fantasies during adolescence, masochistic tendencies and his inclination to duels are highlighted by referring to Freud's concept of eros and thanatos.
