Abstract: A case of acute chemical pancreatitis and associated prolonged ileus following an acute overdose of the tricyclic antidepressant clomipramine by an adult is reported. Pancreatitis is a rarely-reported serious complication of antidepressant overdose and may lead to prolonged ileus and extended hospitalization.
