Abstract
- Twenty-five samples of various degrees of hypernasal speech were time altered (expanded) to 0%, 125%, 175% of the original time. Inexperienced and experienced student clinicians rated the magnitude of hypernasality and degree of confidence of ratings for each sample in each condition. The results indicate significant differences in ratings of hypernasality for the expansion conditions for both groups. Experienced clinicians showed less variability and higher mean ratings than inexperienced clinicians.
