Abstract: Systemic vaccination of rabbits with an inactivated type 1 virus subunit vaccine induced humoral and cell-mediated immune responses. Following ocular infection with type 1 herpes virus corneal ulceration and virus excretion were reduced in the vaccinated rabbits.
