Abstract
- Indirect immunofluorescence technique, using an antisomatostatin antibody, has allowed us to detect immunoreactive fibers in neurohypophysis of the monkey Macaca irus. These fibers are located in stem and in neural lobe of the pituitary gland. They are thin fibers disposed around blood vessels. They are grouped together in areas more or less large, especially at the periphery of the neural lobe, under the glandular capsule and in the vicinity of the intermediate lobe. There are no sex-linked differences in the morphology as well as the distribution of these immunoreactive fibers.
