Abstract

Oxidative stress induces autooxidation of polyunsaturated fatty acids, producing numerous isoprostanoids and isofuranoids. These oxidized products are measurable in human plasma and urine and serve as oxidative stress biomarkers for chronic diseases. This chapter details the preparation and measurement of α-linolenic acid-derived phytoprostanes and phytofurans in human samples using liquid chromatography-quadrupole time-of-flight tandem mass spectrometry (LC-QToF-MS/MS).<br /> (© 2025.
