Abstract: The presence of high-density emboli in the pulmonary artery on non-enhanced computed tomography (CT) has high diagnostic performance for acute central pulmonary thromboembolism. Acute pulmonary thromboembolism is usually diagnosed by contrast-enhanced CT.
